Radio GAMeC began on March 20, 2020, on the initiative of Lorenzo Giusti, Director of GAMeC, with the immediate collaboration of Lara Facco and Leonardo Merlini, to whom the hosting of the first cycle of online conversations was entrusted. Through two months of daily live streams on Instagram and the participation of over one hundred guests, Italian and international, coming from the worlds of art, culture, volunteering, sport, politics, science, music, and entertainment, the project configured itself as a broadcaster “from the front” of the city most hard-hit by the first wave of Covid-19, intertwining local testimonies and voices from the rest of the world. Conceived to share experiences in a moment of forced distancing, the first season of Radio GAMeC nourished cultural dialogue, narrated and interpreted a present difficult to decipher, imagining possible futures.

On Monday, March 23, at 11:30 a.m., the second episode of Radio GAMeC, the Gallery’s new live streaming platform, will air. The program features Francesco Micheli, director of the Teatro Donizetti, and Alessandro Sciarroni, dancer and choreographer who won the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 2019 Venice Dance Biennale.
